"Busy hands make a quiet mind"

Our workshop is small and simple, it's full of old methods and hand-me-down tools. We build one piece at a time, patiently and with care.

We build because it's good for us; to use our minds and our bodies to create items that bear a story and bring back memories.

Ordering the perfect piece

Due to the bespoke nature our work, all orders begin with an email to: BrownAndSons.Anthony@Gmail.com
We want even the most basic of items to exceed your expectations, and so we want to fully understand the context around your purchase. Please feel free to attach any images or include any explanations that you find helpful in explaining your vision for the piece you are wanting to build. We'll likely reply with a few questions to make sure we see your vision clearly, that might include:

  • We might ask for pictures of the space or other pieces of furniture that you like.

  • We might ask you to measure the space.

  • We might ask what you'll put on your bookshelf, or where you intend to put your table.

  • We can discuss the wood species available and the pros and cons to each.

A few notes about wood species:

We will build any design from any wood species you request, but please  be aware of the trade-offs with softwoods: Pine is a cheaper alternative than oak, walnut, etc., but it is a softwood, it will dent and scratch much easier than hardwoods. We are located in the Inland Northwest, and retailers in this area do not sell southern yellow pine (a much more resilient and hard species of pine). Pine, fir, and cedar are generally best for outdoor and rustic projects, hardwoods are generally best for interior, heirloom pieces.
